As of September 2025, you may have noticed that Hope Christian Centre is now Hope Christian Church. Many years ago, after moving from Murray Street Chapel, we decided that to distinguish the building from the people we would name the building Hope Christian Centre.

This year, we're combining the name of our organisation with the name you see on the door - because it's who we are. We still believe - and teach - that the Church is the people and not the building, and you won't see any other changes. But our logo, colours, and name describe us - the people of this Church in Hobart called Hope. We are Hope Christian Church. 

The word "Church" basically means "a body of Jesus' followers gathered together" and not a large building. So that is what we are. A Church.
